Sexist Advertising from the 70's.

My friend Dre forwarded me some advertising from the 1960's and 70's with strong sexist overtones. After watching three seasons of Madmen I can actually understand how ads like these got to print back on the day.

  1. This is great Robert, I was roaming around on google for media images of women in the 50's 60's and 70's.
I have a blog hope you follow. Mine is about growing up in those decades as the daughter of parents who were ahead of their time. My dad Dempsey Hovland created operated and coached a female barnstorm professional basketball team in the above decades. His team ( 1949-1977 The Texas CowGirls) actually from Chicago.
of females played against men playing mens rules coast to coast for 28 years. The true story has been a part of lost history. The girls beat their male opponants 80 % of their 160-220 games per season. They were so good they opened for The Harlem Globetrotters in the " old school basketball days" and played the preliminary games for the original first NBA teams, My mom was one of the women that played.
Their lives were a contradiction to the way women were portrayed in the media. A documentary about his world famous team is beginning to be filmed and an indie feature film is being produced about my parents " out of the box' life. I enjoyed the post ! Erin
